Qatar Charity, an international non governmental organisation has extended its humanitarian hand to Kenya once again through a generous donation of essential items aimed at providing both immediate relief and long-term economic empowerment to vulnerable communities across the country.
Over 5,500 families in 10 counties in Kenya will benefit from a wide-ranging donation that includes 100 pieces electric wheelchairs and 100 pieces manual wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, 1000 desks and chairs for schools, 130 units of tuk-tuks for cargo and 130 units of tuk-tuks for passenger transport, 50 units of flour milling machines, solar lighting kits, 200 pieces of Electric sewing machines, and other livelihood support tools.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony held in Nairobi, the Ambassador of Qatar to Kenya, His Excellency Mohammed Mutair Al-Shamlani Al-Anzi, reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s social development goals.
“These donations are part of Qatar Charity’s continued humanitarian and development work in Kenya,” said Ambassador Al-Anzi. “We believe in empowering communities to uplift themselves, and we remain committed to walking alongside Kenya in its journey toward inclusive development.”
The distributed items are expected to enhance access to mobility for people living with disabilities, improve the learning environment in under-resourced schools, and equip beneficiaries with the means to generate income and improve their livelihoods.
“We are touching 5,500 families across Kenya and we want to thank all our partners who have made this a reality,” said Qatar Charity Country director Adel Abdelrahim Daboubi. “We thank the people of Qatar for this warm gesture towards their brothers and sisters in Kenya.”
Qatar Charity Kenya has been actively involved in various humanitarian interventions in Kenya, including food relief, water and sanitation projects, education support, and income-generating initiatives.
Charlene Ruto praised the gesture, noting that the donation would have a significant impact on lives across several counties.
